I never considered myself anything but a Mom who enjoyed taking pictures of her own children. My friends noticed and encouraged me to think about doing it as a business. I never took it seriously until one of my friends' daughter asked me to photograph her wedding. I refused at first but ultimately agreed.
By word of mouth, I have been busy every wedding season since. How amazing is it to earn a living doing something I love as much as I do. I truly feel it is an honor to be asked to photograph the most important day of someone's life.
